Child Care and Early Learning Needs Assessment
These reports describe the current status of child care and early learning supply and demand for children ages 0-12 years in San Mateo County, and are intended to inform County child care policies and priorities with the most up-to-date county data.
2025 Supply and Demand Report
In response to a number of significant changes to San Mateo County's child care system since the publication of the 2022 Needs Assessment, the Child Care Partnership Council engaged Sarah Kinahan Consulting to conduct an updated child care supply and demand analysis. This "Mini Needs Assessment" provides a current assessment of the supply of formal child care for children ages birth to twelve in San Mateo County for families at all income levels. The report also provides recommendations for utilizing any excess child care capacity in new ways.
